Originally a railway ganger’s cottage built at the turn of the century, and thereafter a farm-house, the property was purchased by Rawdons Hotel in 1997, and the Bierfassl was established.

Run by Sean and Rebecca Wakeford since 1999, much of the original infrastructure is intact, from the Oregon floors and sash windows to the back-to-back fireplace that provides warmth needed during the Nottingham Road winters.
